The abraded base from a pottery vessel of probable Late Iron Age date. The base is now sub-circular and very shallowly convex. Walls continue for up to 12.6mm beyond the solid base which is up to c. 20.0mm thick. The walls begin to flare out slightly, the object having narrowed to a diameter of c. 40.0mm from the base. The fabric is quite a fine one that has largely oxidised a dull orange colour.

A rim sherd from a bead-rim jar of Late Iron Age to Roman date. The sherd has an irregular shape. It has a rounded body below the small rim. The rim has a very shallow curvature suggesting a large vessel. The sandy fabric has some flint inclusions, less than 5%, fairly poorly sorted. The outer surface has a black burnished appearance while below the surface the clay is browner with occasional red tinges.

A fragment of a large Hertfordshire grog-tempered storage jar of late Iron Age to early Roman date. The sherd comes from just below the right-angled rim. The fabric is light grey with frequent large inclusions. The surfaces are black and exhibit grooves, suggesting that the pot was finished on a turn table. The sherd measures 122.5mm long, 68.9mm wide and 15.3mm thick. The weight is 117.2g.

This sherd dates to the 1st century AD.
