A Post Medieval lead alloy (tin) "American plantations token" minted under James II for use in the American plantations, dating c. 1688. This token was valued at one 24th of Spanish real, or one and a half farthings.
The obverse of the coin shows James II on horseback with the legend IACOBVS II D G MAG BRI FRAN ET HIB REX. The reverse shows four crowned shields of England, Scotland, France and Ireland linked by chains and the legend VAL 24 PART REAL HISPAN.
