 A Post Medieval lead two disc cloth seal made from two discs of lead held together with a lead strip, dating from AD 1700 - 1900. A central integral rivet from the back of one disc passes through a hole in the other disc and is stamped flat. The seal has the legend R&I in relief on the obverse with the number 829 stamped above it. The imprint of the cloth is visible on the other face. Measurements are; diameter 24.8mm, thickness 2.5mm and weight 7.83g. Compare SUR-51F7A9.

A lead Early Medieval spindle whorl, dating from about AD 850 - 1000. It is of Walton Rogers form A1. The spindle whorl is sub-conical in form, with one flat face and one face with one rounded face.  The whorl has a cream patina and is undecorated. Measurements are; diameter 26.9mm, thickness 6.9mm and weight 24.76g.  The central hole has a diameter of 11.1mm. Form A1 whorls are dated by Walton Rogers to AD 500 - 1000. Those with a central perforation of 11mm are more likely to be from the late Anglo Saxon period.

A complete sub-circular two-disc rivet type lead cloth seal, probably post-medieval in date, about AD 1550 - 1800. The discs are connected by a central integral flattened rivet which passes through a hole in the other disc and projects outwards and by a broken connecting loop at one side. Disc one has the number 57 in relief. The rivet projects from the reverse and the face is stamped with a shield, possibly crowned, containing a lion rampant left holding a sword. A bulla type, lead bag seal dating from the late Medieval or early modern period, about AD1890 - 1920. One side is impressed with a Star of David and the other side carries the number 166, 136 or 186. Seals with these markings are regular detector finds in Yorkshire and are probably from bags of guano or phosphate fertilisers. Leeds Phosphate Works used the Star of David motif and the number on the reverse is probably a batch number. The seal is 16.63mm long, 14.35mm wide and 3.38mm thick. it weighs ?g. A small sub-circular perforated lead seal dating from AD 1900 - 1964. It is a General Post Office seal. It is circular with one flat and one domed face. Strands of copper wire project from four points around the edge. The centre of the seal has been perforated by a circular hole suggesting reuse. The measurements are; diameter 27.6mm, thickness 7.3mm, and weight 31.62g. The object is undecorated and has a light grey patina. Similar examples can the found on the database see SWYOR-B413FF. Walton Rogers dates form B1 from AD 700 in York to 1200. A large central perforation makes a date from AD 850 onwards more likely.

A Medieval lead seal matrix dating from AD 1200 - 1300. It is a pointed oval "vesica" shaped matrix and it is very worn. The central motif is a stylised fleur-de-lis and there is a line border. The inscription is probably a personal one but is mostly illegible: S'[...]ELC. On the reverse is a central rib with a perforated lug at one end. Measurments are; length 31.0mm, width 20.4mm, thickness 7.4mm and weight 17.34g.

A lead pot mend and a fragment of the ceramic vessel, of probable Roman date, AD 43 - 410. The mend is two discs of lead, one large and oval and one smaller and nearly square. They are joined by a short stem (making the mend H shaped in cross-section) through a hole in the ceramic vessel. Some of the ceramic fabric survives. It appears to be a greyware with frequent quartz inclusions, suggesting a Roman date. Measurements are; length 28.3mm, width 24.2mm, thickness 9.9mm and weight 22.87g.

A discoid, cast lead artefact, probably a weight of uncertain date, Medieval to Post-Medieval, or an ingot. It is a circular disc of lead, thicker on one side. The top face is smooth and slightly concave. The sides and base are rougher, probably from being cast in sand. It is 30mm in diameter and 10.7mm thick. It weighs 65.9g. The mass does not easily equate to any standard system of weight measurement, so it is probably a bespoke weight or lead that has been melted into a makeshift ingot for ease of storage. It has a grey patina.

A sub-triangular, cast lead perforated artefact, probably a weight, dating from the Post Medieval period, AD 1600 - 1900. It is flat in profile, and sub-triangular in plan, with curved sides and rounded corners. The edges are bevelled. The reverse is pitted, perhaps from the casting process. The narrow end is perforated with an irregular hole of 3-5mm diameter. The weight is 41.9mm long, 23.9mm wide and 5.9mm thick. It  weighs 36.4g. The mass does not obviously fit into standard units of measurement, but the weight may have been used to add mass, such as a line or net weight.
