Description: On the obverse, the token has five raised ribs radiating from the centre and in each of the ensuing segments is a pellet. The reverse is plain and undecorated. A 17th/18th century lead single disc of a four-disc alnage cloth seal dating to c.1603-1724. Sub-oval with a rectangular connecting strip above. The face depicts a crowned thistle with the numerals 1 - 1/2 to either side (alnage fee). The reverse is plain and the surface displays a light buff colour. Height 17.3mm, width 13mm, thickness 1.1mm, weight 1.2g. The alnage system ended in 1724. Similar examples on this database at: DEV-F01E00, DOR-06A417 and LIN-DE9542 and see Egan (1994), pp.178.

One face has the initial letters S H (or H S) in one line with horizontal lines above and below. The reverse depicts a tankard and a lozenge shaped flower to the right and possibly a sword above. The surface displays a dull light grey colour. Diameter 14.6mm, thickness 1.9mm and weight 2.2g. A probably Post Medieval cast lead anthropomorphic weight in the form of a human face. Sub-oval in plan and flattened hemispherical in form. The face is relief moulded with  a raised brow, oval eyes and a protruding nose. The mouth is only partially visible due to probable post depositional damage to the chin. The reverse has similar scuff damage but is otherwise plain and flat. The surface displays a light buff / grey colour. A complete probable lead weight or plumb of uncertain date. The lead is conical with a flat base and rounded tip with a small circular dimple. The object has a stippled, cream patina with signs of wear. Dimensions: Length 46.3mm, Diameter 11.2mm, Weight 30.80g. Lead weights are difficult to date when found as stray finds as they are used for long periods of time however similar weights on the database include ESS-EB2B97, WILT-BB2605 and SWYOR-24A123. The latter two, however, unlike the present example have a hollow core.
