A small, copper alloy model of a quadruped with a long tail, possibly a lioness, leopard or similar. It is missing most of its very thin legs. The body is curled around, the head being inside this curl, facing semi-sideways, with a posisble short mane marked on the back. The waist is narrow and the haunches are well defined. The object has a rectangular cross section and is sub-rectangular in plan. It has a slight central ridge on the outer-side and the back is flat. The leg is straight and there is no foot. Measurements are; length 31.1mm, width 41.3mm, thickness 8.9mm and weight 46.14g.

The head of the brooch comprises tubular wings which act as a hinge mechanism. An axis bar is retained through the lugs and a pin slot is encrusted with iron corrosion. The pin proper no longer remains.

A complete copper-alloy strap end of medieval date, c.AD 1150 - 1450.
The object comprises two heater shield shaped plates joined together at the lower pointed terminal. The opposite end is open, though joined with a central rivet. The sides of the plates are broadly parallel.
The upper surface of one plate is decorated with a shallowly incised triangle flanked by pellets.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The strap end is 18.3mm long, 12.7mm wide, 3mm thick and weighs 1.7g.

An incomplete copper-alloy finger ring of Roman date, c.AD 50-300. Guiraud's Type 1b (Henig Type 1).
The bezel is round with a sub-rectangular section with a recessed circular cell to the upper surface. The cell holds five circles of blue enamel in a cross formation. One of the circles is largely lost. The remains of an integral hoop extend downward at almost 90 degrees to either end of the reverse of the bezel. The hoop has an ovate section and both sides taper to worn breaks.

An incomplete copper-alloy double-headed button and loop fastener of Roman date, c.AD 43-200.
The head is pointed ovate with a central raised circular boss within a deep circumferential recess. The pointed terminal has a slight raised lenticular moulding which tapers into the point.
An integral shank extends down from the reverse of the boss and bends at 90 degrees where it widens into a second head. The orientation of the shank results in the heads being on different plains.

Only a small portion of the arched bow and the foot remain which is sub-rectangular with D-shaped section and flared terminal. Both ends are broken and worn.
The upper surface of the object is worn though traces of decoration can be determined. Double banded transverse grooves are present at the mid-point of the foot with a raised swelling where it begins to expand into the terminal.

The fragment is an ear from an animal, possibly a horse. It is sub-triangular in plan with a U-shaped section. Repeated transverse grooves are positioned around the edge of the front of the ear, giving the appearance of hair.
Shallow cut-outs with straight edges are present around the area of the break to the lower edge of the ear. A small square cut-out is also present through the edge of the object.

The buckle is sub-rectangular with a drilled frame for a separate spindle. Moulded transverse grooves are present over each spindle hole. The spindle is retained around which a triangular pin is fitted by a closed loop. A ‘cooking-pot’ chape is also retained around the spindle, though the outer edge is lost to worn breaks. Patches of a white metal coating are present on the surface of the buckle.

It has a very worn acanthus moulding, of three petals above and three below a central disc. The moulding continues round the back of the bow. There is a worn collar above and below. The lower bow is flat in cross-section and has a central ridge on the reverse whhich is the top of the catchplate. The breaks are worn and patinated. The fragment has a green and brown patina. It is oval in cross-section and forms the out-turned foot from a small vessel. The top is a diagonal patinated break. The leg does not closely match any of the examples in figure 4 of Butler, Green and Payne (2009) Finds Research Group Datasheet 41. There are traces of sooting on the surfaces. The pin and plate are missing. The patina is green and brown. It is 24.17mm long, 14.57mm wide and 2.45mm thick. 1.53g. The maximum width of the strap is about 19mm.

A complete copper-alloy blunt-hooked dress fastener of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1600 - 1700. Reads Class A, Type 2.
The main plate is sub-ovate with two ovate attachment knops projecting from either side of the outer edges and a third knop is present to the pointed end of the plate. The wider end of the plate has an integral rectangular attachment loop.
The upper surface of the plate is worn with traces of white metal coating.
The metal has a mid-green/grey patina and is worn. The object is 36.7mm long, 27.8mm wide, 2.4mm thick and weighs 6.2g.

A copper alloy sword pommel of Petersen's Type S. It is comprised of five lobes, a larger central one and two of diminishing sizes set either side of this. There is the remains of the fixing in the top of the pommel and a hole through it. Inside are possible remains of wood and perhaps some of the fixing. According to Leahy and Lewis (2018: 328), this style of pommel is of an English type but is also attributed to Viking use. Parallels include WAW-C104D7, SWYOR-D14F67, all dated to AD 900-1100

A complete copper alloy lunate harness mount dating from the Roman period (AD43-200).
The object is lunate or crescent shaped with the main body in the form of curving folds, tapering from the centre to join at the terminals where there is a swirl inwards at both ends. At the left there appears to be an open (possibly broken?) loop; this terminal is also a little higher. The reverse is concave. There is an attachment stud at the base of the curve with a large almost flat top.
The patina of the metal is of a dark green to grey colouring with some lighter patches.

The object consists of a front plate comprising two globular hemispherical terminals joined by a waisted central rectangular panel, and a loop. The front plate is D-shaped in section with a concave interior on the reverse. Projecting from the reverse is an integral rectangular loop extending along the long axis. An incomplete cast copper-alloy object of likely medieval to post-medieval date c.AD500-1700). The has a central moulded bar consisting of two cylindrical shapes separated by a groove. The face of the object has an X inscribed on each of these cylinders whereas the reverse is undecorated. There is a horn like projection from each side that curves upwards and terminates at a break.

An incomplete copper-alloy headstud brooch of Roman date, c.AD 75 - 200. Mackreth 2011, Hinged Headstud Type, no direct parallel.
The head of the brooch comprises tubular wings which act as a double lug hinge mechanism. An axis bar remains fitted through the lug though is broken and worn to either end and from the central slot. The pin no longer remains.

The fragment is from the blade section of the sword and is sub-rectangular in profile and lenticular in section. An incomplete copper alloy Jew's harp (or Jaws harp) of Post-Medieval date, c. AD 1500 - 1800. The Jew's harp is lozengiform in cross section and comprises a sub-triangular head with two tapering prongs. A rabbat (notch) on one side at the apex of the head would have accommodated the iron tongue, now missing. Some ferrous material remains within the rabbat. Both prongs taper to points.
The metal has a light green/brown patina with a worn surface. The object is 58.29mm in length, 30.82mm in width at the head, 5.37mm in thickness and weighs 12.98g.
