A Late Iron Age to Early Roman copper alloy hinged strip bow brooch, probably dating to AD 25-70. The brooch survives largely complete, missing only its axis bar and pin. The head of the brooch survives to a width of 10.3mm, it consists of a rectangular sheet of copper alloy with a central slot to accomodate a hinged pin, this is rolled around underneath itself to form a cylindrical casing for an axis bar, now lost. An incomplete copper-alloy Buckle of late Roman date (AD 350-415). The object is a zoomorphic buckle of Hawkes and Dunning Type II. The object is D shaped and is decorated in the form of two confronted dolphins, with their mouths open, with a diamond shaped incised decoration between. The dolphin's heads with crests decorated with obliquely angled ribbing. The space between the mouths of the dolphins serves as the pin rest and is slightly recessed. The decoration is symmetrical. An amorphic piece of copper alloy Slag of Unknown date (1150 BC-AD 1750). The surface is characterised by lumps and hollows. The slag has a deep green and brown colour with a pitted patina. The back of the object is flatted while the front is convex. Scientific analysis of the elemental composition of the copper alloy would allow a more accurate date to be suggested. The object is composed of a rectangular plate, with a central lower knop and moulded edge, and a central transverse raised ridge. An incomplete copper-alloy Nail Cleaner of Roman date (AD 43-410). The blade is leaf shaped, with rounded shoulders and a tapering blade which terminates in an old abraded transverse break. The suspension loop is separated from the blade by a narrow collard neck with three moulded transverse grooves. The loop is circular with a central perforation and situated in the same plane as the blade. Length: 35.83mm, Width: 17.64mm, Thickness: 3.61mm, Weight: 3.5g. The metal is a mid-green in colour with a slightly pitted patina.
