Fragment of the proximal end (partial butt and constriction for the blade) of a Group III rapier (Burgess,C. B and Gerloff, S,1981), with well defined triple arris to the blade, the central ridge flattens out as it reaches the handle, there is a faint wear impression of the omega shaped handle on the surface, the position of the rivet holes for the handle are not visible and the elongated, thin blade (possibly sub-type Lissane? although the blade is rather thin) is largely missing, The main surface of the rapier is patinated dark glossy brown (water patina?) and all the recently damage…

Incomplete medieval copper alloy buckle: perforated ends of missing frame surviving on a separate pin, copper alloy wire pin; rectangular sheet plate with pin slot, frame recesses, single copper alloy rivet at attachment-end. Length 16.5mm. Width 14.5mm. Post-Roman buckle frames with separate bars are uncommon. Cf. a large flimsy example from a mid 14th-century context in York (Ottaway and Rogers 2002, 2893-4, fig. 1469 no. 14099). Probably 14th or 15th century.

Incomplete Roman tinned copper alloy disc brooch of Tutulus type, most of outer flange missing, surviving fragment of flange has the remains of two projecting lugs, one with possible stump of catch-plate flap on the reverse.The conical centre lies within a circular groove and has a small central depression in the flattened apex. The reverse is hollow. Estimated diameter c.24mm (excluding lugs). Thickness/height of disc and cone 6.5mm. See Hattatt fig.206. Late 2nd - 3rd century.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1400. Only the strap bar of the buckle and its accompanying plate survive, the rest of the object missing in old damage. The buckle plate itself is rectangular in plan and 'U' shaped in profile, its two sides secured together at its rear edge by two circular-sectioned dome headed rivets. Two incomplete composite cast copper-alloy strap ends dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1400. Each strap end consists two outer plates riveted together tat their upper and lower edges, the plates themselves being sub-rectangular in form (tapering towards their base), with a projecting knopped terminal. Length: 26.97/17.64mm, thickness at midpoint: 1.73/3.29mm. Combined weight: 5.45g. C.f SWYOR-2C0FD1 on the PAS database, virtually identical to these two examples.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy single looped buckle dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1450. This is a kidney shaped example with a 'D' sectioned frame, rounded sides and an incurved front edge. Iron corrosion on the strap-bar probably reflects the original pin (now missing), while the upper surface of the frame itself is decorated with deep irregular grooves. Preserved in good condition with a dark greyish green patina, it measures 20.81mm in length, 39.08mm in width and 2.94mm thick at the midpoint of the frame. It weighs 8.89g. C.f Whitehead 2003, no. 119.
