An incomplete copper alloy mount or fitting with gold inlaid decoration of probable Post-Medieval date. The object has a central raised boss with a concave reverse, encompassed by a raised circular border. On either side of this a plate extends outwards, apparently curving in around in the same direction on both sides forming a crecentric shape. However, the majority of one side is missing, so this cannot be confirmed. The plate that remains has a raised ridge around the edge of the outer face and a flat reverse. To the reverse are two integral rivets, one close to the central boss an…

The plate is circular, with an irregular break to one side. There are incised floral markings on the front surface. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The metal is a smooth mid greenish-brown colour.

Cast copper alloy sword belt fitting. The object is comprised of a heavy hook; below this is a sub-rectangular area sporting a heavy rivet followed by a sub-circular plate with decorative elements which also has a broken projection at its base. The decoration on the sub-circular plate consists of a large circle mostly filled by a quatrefoil with a circle and dot in each quarter and a circle/dot in the centre. The rest of the circle is filled with these circles and dots. The reverse is plain.

Unusual cast copper alloy pommel. The pommel takes the form of two conjoined heads facing away from each other and joined at the back of the head and neck; probably male and female. The features on both faces are crudely defined but appear to be either early medieval (Norman) or possibly Celtic in style. The pommel is similar in form to a Medieval kidney dagger which would have had a wooden handle and the tang from the blade would have gone through the slot. At the base of the heads the object narrows into a sub-circular collared socket. Between the two head on top of the object,…
