A fragment of a copper alloy spring, possibly from a Roman brooch, possibly dating from AD 43-400. The spring loops three times round in a circular shape, and extends downwards at one end, then horizontally across to the otherside where it extends upwards and ends in an old break. It has a light green patina. The spring is 17.3mm in length, 15.8mm in width, 6.4mm in thickenss, and weighs 1.92g.

A copper alloy spring of unknown date, possibly dating from the medieval to post medieval period, 1100-1800. The spring consists of copper alloy that has been looped round to create a coil, that are c.9 coils fitted together. It widens slightly at one end. At both ends the coil has a worn break. The spring measures 43.3mm in length, 8.4mm in width, and weighs 8.67g.

Copper alloy spring. Two fragments of a coiled spring comprising two equal fragments, each of a turn and a half and of a cast lentoid section, joining at a recent break, but both retaining some tensile strength. Chipped patches on both fragments exhibit bright bronze disease. Presented with another ring of different form and - probably - earlier date. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1900. Diameter: 29.6mm, Height/Length (as joined): 12.7mm, Width: 3.1mm, Thickness: 2mm, Weight: 10.60gms.

An incomplete copper-alloy spring of possible Roman date. Only three coils survive, the remainder of the object is missing due to old breaks, now worn. This spring measures 3.75mm in length, 3.86mm in diameter, 1.17mm in thickness, 0.20g in weight.

A complete copper-alloy spring of unknown date, although perhaps most likely to be from a Roman bow brooch. It has a separately cast copper-alloy axis bar. The spring chord, spring with four surviving coils and pin are all formed from the same piece of wire. This spring measures 20.58mm in length, 18.12mm in width, 7.19mm in thickness, 4.03g in weight.
