Sheet copper alloy riveted plate, possibly part of a fitting for Roman laminated body armour, such as a cuirass or baldric strap fitting. The six intact rivets are domed on the upper face and flat and flush with the plate on the back. The plate has been folded since deposition and is quite corroded so that any decoration has disappeared. The domes of the rivets have corroded into flat lentoid heads that are about 6 to 7 mm in diameter, but the original more circular edge of the heads can still be made out in most cases.
