Incomplete and badly abrarded hinged and probably ovoid lid of a Roman copper alloy flagon with none of the edge extant. Part of an integrally cast projection, probably the figure of a bird, survives but the hinge has not. Similar to Tassinari 1975, pl. XXXV nos. 180-2, cf. NMS-5E0BA5. The breaks are recent. Weight 13.18g. Extant length 40.5mm. Width 36.3mm. Thickness excluding the projection 2.8mm. 2nd - 3rd century.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy flagon lid, dating to c. AD 43 - 410. The lid is trefoil in plan and rectangular in section. The object appears to be undecorated. The rear of the lid has retained most of the hinge, the attachment loop is incomplete, in the centre is a rectangular sectioned shank. Incomplete possible lid of a Roman copper alloy flagon, ovoid with a large perforated lug on reverse forming a single hinge pivot. At the pointed end, which would have been adjacent to the spout, there rises an integrally cast spur rather like the tail of a bird, calling to mind other examples which represent ducks. Length 25mm. Width 23.5mm. Thickness / height 17.5mm. Weight 7.36g. Cf. examples with birds in Tassinari 1975, pl. XXXV nos. 180-2. 2nd - 3rd century.

Incomplete lid of a Roman copper alloy flagon, ovoid with one, hinged, end missing, the single hinge pivot loop being incomplete. Fragment of pedestal base of a flagon decorated externally just above an engraved line bordering the lower edge with a row of triangular cells with concave bases, enamel missing. Distorted, external diameter c. 90 mm. Height at least 16 mm. Dates to the 2nd century AD. Fragment of flagon handle, separately cast from probable lathe-turned flagon, sub-triangular D-sectioned upper end curved to fit against the vessel rim and tapering to break were most of handle is missing, moulded rib on upper surface broken where a projection for the thumb-rest is missing. >35 x >25mm. RB Ae fragment of flagon, semi-circular lid with upturned flange on straight edge and integrally cast crudely modelled duck in centre of curved edge, broken remains of hinge projecting below tail of duck.
