Medieval copper alloy escutcheon measuring 44.95mm in length, 27.99mm in width, 30.03mm in thickness and weighing 80.9g. The object is drop shaped in plan, with a point of 30.03mm rising up from the widest end of the drop shape. This high point then falls into a lower plateau before starting to slope downwards towards the point of the drop shape, becoming only 4.42mm thick. Incomplete cast copper alloy escutcheon from a vessel of the Roman or Medieval period. The object is sub-circular in plan and the outward face is slightly convex. The top edge has broken off but presumably would have formed a hook or suspension loop to take a handle. The concave underside has traces of soldering.

A cast copper-alloy possible escutcheon of Early Medieval date. The object has been cast in a stylised male face or mask design, convex, with a suspension hook and open eyes. The reverse is undecorated, but there is a small circular perforation, also visible on the face that probably indicates a secondary attachment point, perhaps for a rivet. The suspension hook emerged from the top of the head, curling back on itself. It has two incised lines, creating three bands on the hook.
