A fragment of an collar, possibly Roman in date. The fragment comprises what appears to be a collar or base of a larger object. The collar comprises a curved plate which possesses a marginal, notched rib. The underside of the plate is roughly finished suggesting it was not intended to be seen. The plate has a length of 16mm and an internal diameter of 28mm. The marginal rib has a thickness of 3mm whereas the remainder of the plate is 2mm in thickness.

A cast copper alloy hinged neck-collar fragment of early Roman date but with a strong late Iron Age influence. The present hinged terminal comprises a wide rounded transverse ridge decorated with closely-spaced diagonal engraved lines. Thinner transverse ridges, some also notched, lie to each side. Diagonal engraved lines are also present on either side of the forked terminal for the hinge. The collar itself is similarly decorated with two rounded ridges with a narrower decorated ridge between. An incomplete cast copper-alloy collar or ferrule of probable Roman date. Approximately two thirds of the object survives intact, the remainder now missing due to old breaks. It is rectangular in profile and section, curved to originally have an annular form but terminating at both ends in old breaks. On the exterior surface there are moulded grooves comprising one central transverse groove, with a further two parallel transverse grooves towards the top(?) of the object. An unidentified cast copper alloy fitting, probably a decorative collar with several functions, of post medieval date (1500 - 1800 AD). The collar is sub-rectangular in plan and D shaped in section. The exterior edge is decorated with regular rectangular shaped bosses on the edges and rounded knops on the corners. The internal dimensions are 9.8mm x 7.7mm. The internal faces are all plain and unworn - there is no stepping in the profile. The object has an abraded mid grey green colour patina. The external edges are worn. A copper alloy probably Roman collar for a knife handle or similar object. It is a hollow, oval shape, a little squashed due to plough damage,and flares from one terminal to the other. the smaller terminal measures 14.93mm in width and appears to be complete. The larger terminal, 19.55mm in width is incomplete due to recent breaks. The collar is decorated with four horizontal grooves and five bands, the latter bearing traces of vertical tool marks.
