A cast copper alloy half noble coin weight of late medieval date. The flat circular uniface coin weight measures 14.9mm in diameter by 2.3mm in thickness and weighs 2.8g (43gr). On the front, a crown and a fleur-de-lis have been stamped within a circular linear border. The coin weight would originally have weighed 54gr (Withers and Withers 1995, p.68).

Copper alloy circular uniface coin weight for a half noble. Fifteenth to sixteenth century. Diameter 14.5mm and 2mm thick. Weight 2.86g. The moulded decoration is in the form of a single masted sailing vessel. The mast of the vessel is supported by standing rigging, a main brace fore and aft. At the masthead is pennant flying right. The hull is semi circular in shape and is sub-divided with vertical and horizontal lines to represent the "clinker" method of construction. There is an after castle and a fore castle. The weight has an even mid-green patina overall.

Copper alloy uniface Half-Noble circular coin weight. One side bears moulded decoration in the form of a ship. At the top of the mast a small flag flies above the crow’s nest. Beneath this four ropes, two from each side, stretch from the mast to the deck. The body of the ship is ‘U’-shaped, so that each end is upturned, and is divided into three rows of rectangles. At the right end of the ship a lozenge shaped element is set on the upturned end of the body, with a smaller lozenge shape within it.
