The bow is of simple circular form, with a circular perforation, and a flattened oval sectioned stem with a projecting stem tip. The brooch is complete apart from the corroded, largely absent spring, pin, and axis bar. The head of the brooch has two rectangular wings 23.4mm wide, and 7.2mm high, with a curved section with a concave reverse to hold the spring.
