The mount comprises a sub-rectangular plate, broken along one long and one short edge. a partial possible rivet/attachment hole is present to one corner. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with an incised cross saltire set on a transverse groove. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The object is 14.2mm long, 10.2mm wide, 1.7mm thick and weighs 0.9g.
