Copper alloy possible brooch fragment. Narrow cast foot of a small bow brooch, with a rounded end to a narrow plate with central aris and with a long hollow behind perhaps arising from mis-casting or from attachment of a separately made catch plate. A V-shaped stop in bold relief marks the lower part of a convex mid bow. Possibly from a crossbow brooch of Mackreth type CR 2.d [cf. pl. 136 no. 10341].
