A complete cloisonné mount from an uncertain object, though probably a disc brooch, of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 950 - 1150.
The mount comprises a flat copper-alloy backplate with raised edges and deep inset enamel. The mount is decorated with a cloisonné design formed by strips of copper-alloy creating a field of dark blue, a central circular cell of lighter blue and four evenly spaced pointed ovate, leaf-like cells of alternating mid-blue and white enamel.
The mount is 17.2mm in diameter, 3.1mm thick and weighs 1.6g.
