A pewter button of post medieval date, 13mm in diameter, with an integrally cast loop shank. The face of the button is convex and takes the form of a hexafoil rosette, with a central boss comprised of an inset blue glass bead surrounded by six lobes also containing blue glass beads; these are interspersed with smaller sepals. The inset beads are around 2.2mm in diameter and some are partially obscured by the cast metal, suggesting that the casting was done with the beads already placed in the mould. The reverse has a casting seam and a loop shank, now folded flat.

A pewter button for the East London Militia. The front shows a crown over the Arms of the City of London with a scroll below 'East London Militia' (Ripley 145). The reverse has a domed centre with a stump of an iron wire loop shank. The absence of the "Royal" prefix to the name dates this button to 1794-1804.

A pair of Georgian Enlisted man's pewter miliary buttons for the 26th Regiment of Foot (later the Royal Cameronians after 1786). Both have numerals 26 surrounded by a wreath. One button is 16mm in diameter, the other is 12.8mm in diameter. The smaller has a stump for an integrally cast loop on the reverse, the larger has a domed centre with a stump for an iron wire loop shank.

A Georgian cast pewter military tunic button for the Coldstream Guards (enlisted men). The front of the button bears an eight pointed Garter Star emblem with a cross at the centre and the legend COLDSTREAM GUARDS on the garter. The reverse has a domed stump for a separate wire loop shank (now lost) with maker's mark *COVENT GARDEN NOTTING around.

An incomplete lead/tin alloy button of post-medieval date, c. 17th century. A composite, discoidal, two-piece button with a solid convex front and a flat back. It is undecorated apart from a small knop at the centre of the convex front. There are two side-by-side depressions centrally located on the rear where the missing looped shank would have attached. Measurements: diameter 13.60 mm, thickness 4.07 mm, weight 2.13 g. Similar examples are recorded in Read, B, 2005, Metal Buttons c. 900 BC - c. AD 1700, p. 76, nos. 304 & 305.

An incomplete lead or tin alloy (pewter) button dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1500-1700). The object is discoidal with a convex face and flat reverse. The face is decorated with a cast sexfoil with central pellet set withiin in a raised lip border around the edge of the button. All decorative details are in relief. A complete Post Medieval tin-alloy button dating to circa AD 1550-1700. The button is flat and discoidal. Its front face is decorated with two concentric incised borders, an inner and outer, 5mm apart. Between the borers is an incised floriate motif. An incomplete tin alloy (pewter) button dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1500 -1700). The object is circular in plan and flat in section. The edges of the button are chipped and no decorative pattern is apparent on the face. On the reverse the shank has completely broken away. The object is mid-grey in colour.  A comparable example can be seen in Read (2021: 75) no. 280.  The overall dimensions are as follows: 21.24mm in diameter, 3.00mm in thickness and 3.32g in weight.
