Irregular fragment of silver or silver alloy casting waste, probably from button or token making processes. Unknown date. The object has a smooth, flat reverse with a greyish patina and irregular nicks and scratches consistent with below-ground wear. The obverse has a flat, pitted, rectangular base with irregularly broken edges and two raised discoidal features. An incomplete base silver, or white metal, object/ingot of uncertain date. The object is sub-rectangular in plan with a square section. Both end terminate in worn breaks. The metal has a shiny grey patina with patches of green corrosion showing through. The object is 32.5mm long, 7.8mm wide, 6.8mm thick and weighs 10.1g. A crudely cast base-silver or pewter pendant of uncertain date. The pendant possesses a flat, circular body, which is decorated on both its upper and lower surface with moulded decoration. The decoration comprises a circumferential rib, enclosing a cross. In each of the segments created by the arms of the cross is a circular pellet surrounded by a circumferential rib. The body extends to a flat, approximately trapezoidal plate and then to the attachment loop. An incomplete illegible silver coin, of uncertain dating, but possibly Roman. Both the obverse and reverse types are heavily worn and illegible.The coin has been burnt and folded in half. XRF analysis using a handheld XRF device has indicated that the coin has been made from a silver and copper alloy, with trace amounts of lead and iron present.
