Reverse: Valens & Valentinian seated facing, both holding globe above palm between them; behind, Victory standing facing; VICTOR-IA AVGG Mint mark: TROBS. RIC IX 17e and 39a The coin was found in the same parish as a gold solidus hoard containing coins of Gratian, Valentinian II and Theodosius (2005 T292), recorded on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database as LIN-718484. The relationship between the coins is uncertain.

Jovinus was a usurper (unofficial emperor) who reigned in Gaul from AD 411-413. The coin is in very good condition, with little or no wear, although there is a small split at the edge behind the Emperor's head.
