A short curved length of twisted gold wire. 8mm of wire at one end has not been twisted. Probably less than 100 years old. Non-destructive X-ray flourescence analysis of the surface indicated a gold content of 95-97%, silver content of 1-2%, the remainder being copper.

A fragment of twisted gold wire of uncertain date and function, most likely part of an earring or other item of jewellery. The wire originally had a square cross section and has been twisted along most of its length and bent into an S-shape. There is a short section of around 10mm on the outside of the larger bend which appears not to have been twisted; this may be an original feature relating to the function of the object, perhaps suggestive of a suspension loop.

A cast rectangular frame with ornate vegetal moulded decoration and opposed projecting spherical knops: one for a narrow winding key [lost], and the other for a loop, similarly decoratively moulded, retaining a single chain link. The frame retains a square translucent stone of a greenish tint with the appearance of internal clouding or inclusions. A complete gold walking cane ferrule dating from the late 19th century. Description: The ferrule is made from thin sheet gold and has a stamped design in relief of foliate scrolls, with a thin plain border at each edge. A large central heraldic shield features an inscribed crest of a lion's head charged with a bend. The hallmark to the right of the shield shows the initials 'J.K.' and '18Ct'. An incomplete gold handle probably from a walking stick or cane dating to the Post Medieval to early Modern period (c. AD 1750-1850). The object is rectangular in plan and would have once been tubular in form, though has since been flattened. At one end is a narrow decorated band, the decoration of which is a double transverse ribbed collar. Beneath this band is a partially exposed copper alloy ring. A small fragment of gold, dished and decorated on the outside of the curve, possibly broken from some kind of vessel. The decoration appears to be a plant design, of probable late medieval date. The inner side is undecorated. The exact character of the object is uncertain. There is no reason to doubt that this object meets the 10% threshold required by the Treasure Act, or that it is more than 300 years old. As such it therefore qualifies as Treasure under the terms of the Act.

A circular disc of gold, with a hand cut 'milled' edge and a piercing through the central flan. The milled edge stands proud of the flan, more so on one side than the other. It is unclear what this item was part of or what it was used for; it might be part of a composite necklace or it may be part of a mount, possibly from a knife handle. It is likely to date after 1716, and therefore falls outside of the remit of The Treasure Act 1996.
