Gold offcut. A rectangular strip of beaten gold sheet of thickness 0.3mm, with crisp folds along one long edge and at one end, and with a corrugated appearance suggesting seven or eight subsequent folds along its length; now flattened. Though the form is undiagnostic, it is likely this object may represent the working of precious metal in antiquity, probably more than 300 years ago. Suggested date: Unknown, Bronze Age to Early Medieval, 2350BC-AD1100. This would suggest the object should at least be considered under the Treasure process, ref. 2021 T396. Gold offcut. Strip of probably beaten gold sheet of thickness 0.3-0.7mm with cut edges and tapering towards narrower cut ends. The strip bears traces of about sixteen folds between its ends, though is now bent at only three of these sites. Accompanying material was of Roman date, c.80-350, and the object is accordingly to be submitted to the Treasure process at the finder's request, reference 2015 T493.
