Medieval gold quarter noble of Edward III (1327-1377), Fourth Coinage, Series G, type a/d mule, 1356-1361 AD, North 1189/1190. About 10% is missing from one edge.
See SUSS-53867 for a similar, complete coin.
North indicates that 1189/1190 are only know as mules with the obverse of type 1189 (with annulet stops) and reverse of 1190 (with saltire stops). The spelling mistake in the reverse legend was identified by R L Kenyon who lists this coin as Type 2 of the quarter nobles of 1351-60 (R L Kenyon, 1884, The Gold Coins of England).
