A short curved length of twisted gold wire. 8mm of wire at one end has not been twisted. Probably less than 100 years old. Non-destructive X-ray flourescence analysis of the surface indicated a gold content of 95-97%, silver content of 1-2%, the remainder being copper.

A gold-coloured wire of circular cross-section and uniform gauge, coiled at one end, bent and broken at the other and bent to a right-angle near its mid-point.
Date: recent, probably 19th or 20th century.
Dimensions: length 41.3 mm.

In age and precious metal content the object does not qualify as Treasure under the terms of the 1996 Treasure Act.
