This is an incomplete object made of gold sheet, probably dating to the Roman period. It has been tentatively identified by Roman specialist Martin Henig as a votive plaque representing the female sex organs. The remains of the plaque consists of two segments, which have fractured off from each other, but which fit together; the upper portion includes a curved suspension hook and the upper portion of the plaque, which is sub-triangular in shape. Small gold appliqué decorated with curvilinear filigree wire. The plaque comprises a thin piece of sheet gold forming an extended rectangle in two decorative 'halves', with each of the shortest sides cut to form a 'V' shape. There is a small circular perforation at each corner, as well as an additional perforation below one of the corner perforations; other holes appear to be wear and tear. Square shaped flat gold tablet with punched Greek lettering dating to the Roman period c. AD 100-410. Description: There are ridges on the surface showing that the tablet was folded at some point. The longest ridge, running vertically down the centre, suggests that the tablet was folded once at the centre, and then twice over horizontally, as suggested by the three transverse ridges intersecting it on the left side. The side to the right of the vertical ridge is relatively flat.  There appear to be three fields of punch inscribed writ…

The object consists of one end of a rectangular strip of filigree-decorated gold sheet. It has a border formed by a false herringbone plait of two plain, twisted wires in-between two finely milled wires. The border encloses two lengthwise rows of back-to-back S-scrolls (only two scrolls on each side now surviving) separated by a single median wire, all finely milled.
