A gold ferrule of probable 19th Century date (AD 1800 - AD 1900). Length: 10.0mm; width: 15.0mm. Weight: 4.69g. Treasure case no. 2007 T164 (not Treasure). The ferrule consists of a gold band with separate narrow gold sleeves fitted over each edge. The band is divided circumferentially into three zones. The central zone is plain but is covered by gouged markings which appear to have been created with a chisel or similar implement.
