Treasure reference number 2017 T1015: a gold band of unknown date. The band is rectangular in section and appears once to have been oval in plan, perhaps forming a ferrule or fitting from an object such as a pendant or a knife. The hoop is no longer a neat oval, but has been bent inwards on either side in the middle. The length of the ferrule is 32mm and the maximum width is 13mm. The hoop measures 3mm in width and 2.2mm in thickness, It is 2.16g in weight. A gold ferrule of probable 19th Century date (AD 1800 - AD 1900). Length: 10.0mm; width: 15.0mm. Weight: 4.69g. Treasure case no. 2007 T164 (not Treasure). The ferrule consists of a gold band with separate narrow gold sleeves fitted over each edge. The band is divided circumferentially into three zones. The central zone is plain but is covered by gouged markings which appear to have been created with a chisel or similar implement.
