Description: Cast gold annular ear ring. This is roughly sub rectangular in plan with a lozenge-shaped cross-section. The ring is widest at its mid point and tapers towards a point at either terminal, both points overlap by 5mm, but are not fixed together in anyway. Discussion: There is a parallel for this form of ear-ring in Lindsay Allason-Jones: 'Ear-rings in Roman Britain', no. 35. A gold loop of uncertain function made of square cross-sectioned rod that has been bent into a sub-circle shape, one side is slightly distorted and straight and the terminals are over-lapping. The rod is thickest at its centre and thinnest at the terminals. Dimensions: Weight: 8.44g; Diameter: 22mm by 22mm; Thickness: 5mm (max.) - 1mm (min.)
