A medieval finger ring of iconographic type.  The bezel is hexagonal and contains a depiction of God the Father holding the figure of Christ on the Cross.  This was the conventional way to portray the Trinity in the late medieval period, though the dove representing the Holy Spirit seems to be absent. Description: Small gold annular brooch of medieval date, with inscription. The frame is circular with a triangular cross-section, flat and undecorated on the reverse. The inner angle of the front  is decorated with a groove within which is a line of fine, neat beading; under a lens it can be seen that this has been stamped, as each bead is surrounded by a slight upstanding circle. A gold later medieval or early post medieval gem-set ring with a square or box bezel. The bezel is set into the hoop and is 4.2mm wide. The setting is 1.5mm deep but has lost the stone, which would have been held in place by the ridged sides of the box and would have been either cabochon or possibly table cut. The hoop has a triangular cross section, 2.3mm wide and 1.2mm thick and is decorated with two bands of fine transverse oblique ridges.
