A gold Iron Age stater of the North Thames region/ Catuvellauni and Trinovantes, struck for Tasciovanos, dating to the period c. 25BC to AD 10. Tasciovanus Hidden Faces type. Crossed wreaths, one curved, back to back crescents at centre, hidden faces in angles. Reverse depicts horse right, bucranium, solar motif and [TASCIAVAN] above, hook-like object below. ABC 2553 VA 1680, BMC 1591-1603.

Gold quarter stater from the Catuvellauni tribe, 'Tasciovanos Quatrefoil' type, dating c.25BC - AD10. Obverse shows alternating four ears of corn and four tear drops surrounding two back to back crescent moons. The whole design is slightly off centre. The reverse shows a central horse facing right with a series of geometric shapes surrounding it, including two pellets either side of the horses head and a collection of three teardrops by its tail.
This type of coin is recorded in ABC and noted by the author as extremely rare (Rudd, p.129, no.2583).
