A complete gold (or gold plated) penannular ring of mid to late Bronze Age date (c.1300-750 BC.). The body is oval in cross-section. Gold posy ring, with flattened D-shaped cross-section. The external band is plain with a highly polished, reflective surface. The internal flat surface is engraved with the motto ‘be Constant to the End’ in italic font. There is a small, sub-rectangular mark or indentation following the inscription. The ring is complete and in good condition.

Description
The object is a decorative gold ring with a deep oval bezel (height 5.7mm), once set with a small uncut (cabochon) stone, perhaps a sapphire. There is a small transverse ridge on each side of the bezel at the junction with the hoop, and the lower half of the bezel is chamfered to give a truncated biconical profile. The hoop is slightly misshapen and incomplete, and of circular cross-section.
Bezel diameter 8.2 x 6.5mm; hoop thickness 1mm at bottom, 1.9mm at junction with bezel; bezel height 5.7mm; weight 1.69g.

A complete and well preserved post-medieval gold 'posy' ring, dating to the period AD 1650-1800.
The finger ring has a D-shaped band, convex on the outside and flat on the inside which is plain externally. Inside the band is an inscription in an italic script reading 'God Knitt our hearts in faith'. There is no maker's mark. The finger ring is made of gold which retains its polish although the outside surface has frequent shallow scratches.
The finger ring has a maximum external diameter of 22.4mm, a width of 5.6mm, is 2.2mm thick and weighs 8.20 grams.

Gold finger ring with internal inscription. The hoop is a shallow D-shape in cross section and slightly distorted. The internal inscription is in italic lettering. The first letter is a large round "a" rather than an angled capital. There is a makers mark at the start of the inscription - the letters IM in an oval recess set at an angle. The band is slightly distorted and there is damage to one edge.
