Post Medieval finger ring: The finger ring is a gold mourning ring which is circular in plan and a slender rectangle in section. The exterior edges are have a fine, linear beaded border. Either side of a central inscription there are three linear, horizontal ridges. The inscription in the centre is written in high-relief Roman capitals. Around each letter there are fine striations which suggest enamelled probably filled the field around the high-relief letters. Description: The bracelet is formed by two rectangular strips of gold which originally were possibly joined, but this is not certain. The breaks have been more recently been broken possibly through being bent in the first instance. The strips are flat in profile and decorated on one face. The decorated faces have a plain border with two parallel ridges within. These ridges have transverse notches which forms a fine ribbing. A complete gold Post Medieval quarter Moeda with a value of 1000 Reis of Peter II (Dom Pedro II) of Portugal (AD 1648-1706). Coin is dated to AD 1703. Mint uncertain. A comparable example of the coin recorded on the PAS database is: WAW-F4673D. The coin has been bent into an S-shape suggesting its use as a love token. See PAS record FAKL-8FB157 for a full discussion on love tokens. The dimensions are as follows: 17mm in diameter and 2.59g in weight.

A complete Early Medieval gold pseudo-Imperial tremissis in the name of Justinian I (AD 527-65) imitating Burgundian issues but attributed to the Merovingian Franks and dating c.AD534-65/70. cf. Description: A complete finger ring which has a triangular sectioned hoop, with a rounded apex. The edges of the finger ring are quite sharp and fresh, suggesting the ring had not been worn or at least worn only for a short time. In plan the finger ring is a slight oval. The interior surface has an inscription reading ‘A true freind’s gift’ in lower case and has been inscribed in italic script. Post-Medieval (19th century) fob seal. The gold (or possibly more likely gold-coated) fob seal is in the form of a standing owl, with an integral loop protruding from the top of the head.
