Treasure Number: 2016 T176
Period: Undiagnostic
Description: Gold finger-ring.
Dimensions:
Diameter: 15mm - 24mm
Width: 5mn
Discussion: The ring was analysed by several specialists at the British Museum and it was found to be too undiagnostic. Chronologically it could not be attributed to the Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, Early Medieval, Medieval or Post-Medieval periods.
Conclusion: Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find it cannot be securely dated to pre-1716 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
