Complete late 15th- early16th century devotional iconographic gold finger ring. The hoop of the ring is formed from five integrally cast bezels. The bezels are circular in plan and flat in section. Each is separated by an oval bead, which has a scale decoration. Each of the bezels is engraved with symbols representing the passion of Christ. 1. A gold finger ring of iconographic type. The ring has a rectangular bezel which has a engraved depiction of the Virgin and child. The Virgin wears a mantle and gown and the Christ-child is naked. The shoulders of the ring are decorated with a punched floral design comprising two bell- shaped flowers with a stem and leaves above a ten-petalled flower with stem and leaves. A medieval finger-ring, badly distorted into an oval shape. The finger-ring is iconographic in type, with a rectangular bezel, depicting St John the Baptist, who indicates the Lamb of God with his left hand. The ring measures 20.5mm in diameter and 5.5mm thick. It weighs 2.52g.
