A complete gold posey finger-ring, dating to the post medieval period of c.1500 AD-c.1720 AD. The band is sub circular in cross surface and its anterior surface is plain gold with very little damage to it. On the posterior surface, there is an inscription: "Noe riher to content” with a WM as a makers mark. The band of the ring is c.21mm in diameter, 1.11mm thick, and weights 2.66g.

A Post Medieval gold thimble of 18th century date. The base of the thimble is circular in plan and measures 13.5mm in diameter and has a lip which rolls outwards. The walls of the thimble taper slightly towards the top, where the diameter measures 12mm. The outer surface is covered in small indentations. The very top of the thimble is domed and has a series of small impressions arranged in concentric circles.

A gold finger ring, now distorted and slightly damaged. The band is narrow and plain and bears the following legend within: Content is a treasure. The ring bears a maker's mark which reads TB. The form of the letters in the maker's mark strongly suggests that the ring was made by Robert Timbrell and Benjamin Bentley. The mark is recorded by Jackson (1964) on a saucepan dating to 1714-15. The inscription is also recorded on gold rings ESS-BC20F6 and DEV-785123.

A gold posy finger-ring inscribed on the inside of the band 'MY Hart and I untell I die'. The finger-ring is in good condition with a circular hoop of 18.5mm external diameter. The band has a thickness of 1.7mm and width of 3.7mm. The band is a continuous loop although the two ends appear to have been joined by solder at the location of the gap between the beginning and end of the inscription then smoothed in an attempt to hide the join. Description: A complete gold post-medieval posy ring. It has a simple plain gold band, D-shaped in cross-section with the inscription 'Honored for your vertues' in italic script on the inner surface. There is a small mark after the inscription, but this is probably not a maker's mark. It survives in very fine condition. Date: c. AD 1650-1800 Dimensions: Diameter: 16.62mm, width: 2.67mm, thickness: 1.25mm, weight: 1.84g Discussion: The style of lettering suggests a late 17th or 18th century date. By Anna Booth SCCAS June 2016

TREASURE CASE : 2016 T684 Description: An almost complete gold finger-ring. The hoop is made of a strip with a central plain band flanked by beaded bands. The interior of the hoop is unworn, but the exterior is so worn that much of the beading is practically non-existent and the division between the three stands reduced to little more than faint grooves; even these have been worn away entirely at the back of the hoop.
