Description:  A small rectangular fragment of a cut gold bar with a dating range from Roman to Early-Medieval (c. AD100-AD700).  The bar is rectangular in plan with one end slightly tapering.  The non-tapering end appears to be roughly cut.  There are scratch marks and abrasions on the surface.  Dimensions:  L: 11.33mm, W: 3.74mm, T: 2.72, Weight: 1.57g. A complete gold posy ring. The ring is a plain band with a D-shaped cross-section. An inscription on the inside of the band reads: “Let this present my good intent.” There is also a maker's mark of a B at the end of the inscription.The outside edge of the ring has a few light scratches through wear.
