A complete bright gold posy ring, with only slight distortion to circular form, and one fold in the edge at a point. Slight V section exterior form and flat interior face. Decorated externally with alternating curves around a central 'spine' reminiscent of crude feathering, with a frame at the top and bottom edge. Objects with a comparable decoration include BM 1961,1202.51 and BH-A3F837. Gold posy ring. The ring is of D section. The exterior has a floral decoration with curved arc and patterns resembling foilage, and  frame around the diameter top and bottom.. The interior is inscribed 'prefent my affection' in lower case italic script. There is possibly some black enamel present in the lettering.  Posy rings were used as love tokens, with the inscription remaining secret to all but the wearer. Description The object is a mostly plain bar shape being rectangular in plan and in cross section while in profile it is very slightly concave. One terminal is flat and square however the opposite narrow edge appears to have been cut its edge being bevelled into a point that looks triangular in side profile. The bar is gold in colour.
