A squashed and bent gold finger-ring of uncertain date. This artefact weighs 6.39g and is formed of a single band that forms a continuous hoop without sign of a join or solder line. This band has an oval cross-section, though the inner surface is slightly flatter than the convex curve of the external surface. The band has a width of 3.9mm and thickness of 1.8mm. Probably originally circular, the hoop has been squashed so that the irregular oval form occupies the external measurements of 25.0mm x 19.7mm. Gold finger-ring formed from a sheet strip with ends overlapped by 0.5mm. There is no decoration, but a median crease runs around the circumference. Interior diameter 20 – 20.5 mm, width of strip 5 – 5.5 mm, thickness c.0.25mm. There are many scratch marks on both the inner & outer surfaces. Weight 2.65g. The ring is probably over 300 years old, and has a gold content of over 10%. This is the second object of this type from this location.
