The reverse is flat and the upper face in convex. The frame has a constriction for the pin placed at 12 o'clock with the inscription starting at 1 o'clock. The front face has incised letters in capitals which read IO SVI CI EN LIV D, meaning 'I am here in the place of a friend (I love). The S in the inscription is inverted. A gold and gem medieval brooch of 12th century date. The brooch is annular, circular in plan with eight raised collets set equally spaced around the frame. Each collet contains a gem of alternating garnets and sapphires. Between each gem is a raised boss with punched decoration and surmounted by an open fruit pod. Both the internal and external edge of the frame is beaded. The pod with seeds within and the remains of the flower beyond it, most probably represents the fruit of the broom. A medieval gold annular (ring) brooch, circular in shape, terminating in two clasped hands. It has two inscribed facets punctuated by colons with a quatrefoil flower at the base and centre right. Reading clockwise from the pin, the letters (on the inner band) are V O : V O and (on the outer band) V O ? : V O L. The pin is plain with a beaded collar. The clasped hands may once have held a pearl or a gem, now lost. The reverse of the brooch is flat and plain. Comparable brooches are 2006 T119 and 2007 T389. Gold annular brooch dating to the Medieval period. A medieval brooch with a circular hoop, flat on the reverse. The front is ornamented with four punched bosses and four flowers placed at equal distances. Three of the flowers are soldered to the frame and the fourth is soldered to the attachment loop of the pin. The brooch is gold and dates from the late thirteenth or the fourteenth century.

Very fine medieval gold annular brooch dating from the 15th century. The brooch is hollow cast and is hemispherical in section. Part of the frame is made up of a pair of very finely cast three-dimensional clasped hands, the right hand faces the front and is positioned over the left. There is a raised band immediately below the knuckles suggesting the end of a sleeve. The left hand, facing the back of the brooch, has the same band but is less pronounced probably due to wear. There is a small hole about 1mm diameter where the thumbs of the hands meet on the inner edge of the frame. Cuff…
