A gold quarter noble of Edward III, from the Treaty Period (1361-1369). Only just over two-thirds of this coin remains. The broken edge does not look clipped. It appears to have been damaged recently by something mechanical, perhaps by the ploughshare. The break looks quite scuffed.

An Edward III gold Noble , Treaty period type , c 1361 – 1369 AD.
Obverse - King Holding Sword and sheild in ship.
Reverse - E in the centre of cross , annulet at corner of central cross.
The inscriptions on the obverse and reverse of the coin vary very little between classes of ( A- G ). And having a mint mark of a Cross Potent.
In all cases the saltire or annulet can be found at the start of the obverse legend , just before EDWARD .
