Medieval hammered gold coin of Edward III. A treaty period quarter noble (North 1245). Struck by the Calais mint due to the cross in a circle above the shield and the initial mark being a cross potent. Dates from 1363 to 1369 AD. Obverse legend should read EDWARD DEI GRA REX ANGL. The reverse should read EXALTABITUR IN GLORIA. The coin is damaged rather than cut. Judging by the degree of wear, it seems to have been in circulation for a very short period. The length is 19mm, the width is 11mm, and the weight is 0.59g. Additional photographs kindly provided by the finder.
