A complete gold early medieval early medieval shilling (uncertain type) of uncertain anonymous ruler, dating to the period AD 580-675. Mint and moneyer unknown. The obverse die is the same as another found in the parish of Coddenham in 2003 (EMC 2003.0219). Newman and Blackburn (BNJ 004, Coin Register 2003, no. 62) argued that this is probably an East Anglian coinage.

Description: A complete post-medieval enamelled gold posy finger ring. The band is very small in diameter, probably sized to fit a child, and is D-shaped in cross section. The outer face is decorated with four enamelled white rectangles, arranged at equal distances apart, each containing two inwards curving black enamelled semi-circles and a raised gold pellet to either side, with enamelled blank and white squares arranged in a chequerboard design in between. Description: A complete gold finger ring of unknown date. The hoop is simply comprised of a three strands of gold wire plaited into a strip and then joined at one side. The outer face of the hoop has then been filed smooth leaving the central part of the plait still visible. The hoop has been bent out of shape slightly and is no longer circular, but the metal survives in good condition.
