Description: Complete gold Middle Bronze Age four-flange twisted-bar torc. The main bar has been cut longitudinally to create an X-shaped cross-section and has been twisted relatively evenly. Description: Incomplete fragment from a gold Middle Bronze Age flange twisted torc comprising one terminal and a length of twisted metal, terminating in a break. The surviving terminal is oval in cross-section and exhibits evidence of hammering at the tip. Four longitudinal cuts have been made into the bar to create an X-shaped cross-section and the bar has then been twisted. The piece curves along its length and terminates in a break. Description: Piece of gold rod, probably a small fragment of a flange-twisted or bar-twisted torc with three flanges, now bent into a spiral of two full turns. One end is original, with a rounded tip and neat triangular cross-section. From the rounded tip, the terminal flares slightly for c. 10mm and runs straight, before starting to coil. As it starts to curve, each face becomes concave so that the cross-section is Y-shaped, and the rod is then neatly twisted as well as bent into a coil. Late Bronze Age gold pendant: one end of a slightly bent round-sectioned shank has been hammered into a D-sectioned loop, while the other expands into a conical terminal on which another object may have swivelled. Formerly described as probably Roman, it has been reassigned, by Caroline Barton and Ben Roberts of the British Museum, to the Late Bronze Age on the basis of its similarity to a copper alloy example in the Boughton Malherbe (Kent) hoard (PAS KENT-15A293). Length 34mm. Width of loop 5.5mm. Diameter of shank 2 - 1.5mm. Diameter of terminal 3mm. Weight 1.89g. 9th century BC.
