10. Gaius and Lucius type, reverse showing the emperor's two grandsons who predeceased him (RIC I, no. 206, mint of Lyons). Weight 7.80g, date 2 BC to AD 4. Description: Two aurei of Augustus found in the same area as six other coins recovered previously (2017T827, NMS-297275) and representing an addendum to that group. Each carries a peck mark on the obverse, similar to the peck marks noted on the other coins. The pecking would have been carried out to check that the coins were of gold and not plated forgeries.

Fourteen fragments of gold alloy (electrum) twisted round-sectioned wire. All, apart from three single pieces, consist of two twisted wires. All are broken at both ends into lengths between 10mm and 29.5mm. Diameter of cross-section 1.5 - 1.7mm. Weight 12.97g.

Scattered group of six Iron Age gold alloy staters recovered by two finders. All coins are Freckenham flower types, and are reddish in colour, indicating a high copper content to the gold alloy.
