Incomplete Late Saxon sheet gold finger ring. Consisting of a flat pointed oval bezel with a jagged transverse break at either end. Punched decoration over all the surviving surface comprises series of punched annulets. The underside is undecorated. Both faces are heavily scratched. Dimensions: Length: 19mm, maximum width: 12mm, minimum width: 4.2mm, thickness: 1mm, weight: 1.2g. Date: c. AD 851 - 1000. Gold post medieval mourning finger ring. The D-sectioned hoop, originally circular is now bent out of shape. On the exterior is an engraved human skull. On the interior, in Italic script is the legend: "H F ob 10 Mar 1712 aet 70" followed by a stamped maker's mark: the initials CR in blackletter script within a rectangle. Date c. Early Anglo-Saxon gold oval pendant with central cabochon red garnet, surrounded by an outer border of twelve radially set cloisonne cells inlaid with foil-backed garnets. Compacted soil in many of the cells precludes any more detailed observation of the setting. The back of the pendant is solid and undecorated and at the top there is a 2.6mm wide twin-grooved, slightly forward canted, suspension loop, that links from the back to the front.
