Gold alloy Irstead type Iron Age quarter stater of the Iceni tribe. The coin is a whitish yellow and probably has an elevated silver content. Obverse: Latticed square on two opposing crescents with projecting branch above and below. Reverse: Horse stepping right, open head with pellet eye; further pellet between head and chest. Outline crescent with two ringed pellets above (one off-flan) in a smiling face configuration; triad of pellets in a triangular group to right. Ancient British Coins No.1480. Circa 20BC-AD10. Diameter 11mm. thickness 1.4mm, weight; 1.10g

A cast gold and garnet pyramidal mount from the early medieval period. The mount has four triangular faces and a flat top. Each face is decorated with a simple cloisonné design comprising a triangular cell above a rectangular to sub-trapezoidal cell, most of which are inlaid with flat-cut garnets. The edges of the pyramid are inlaid with rectangular garnets shaped to follow the turn of the edge, and at each lower corner are triangular facets also containing flat-cut garnets. Circumstances: Found whilst searching with a metal detector. Description: Incomplete medieval gold finger ring. The bezel is oval, the upper half forming a collet with concave sides, open at the top to house a missing gem or other setting. The mouth is now damaged and bent out of shape. The lower face is divided from the upper by a circumferential ridge and has tapering sides and a flat bottom. The interior of the bezel is hollow and retains traces of a powdery white substance, probably adhesive for the missing setting. The remains of the loop project from one side of the lower face. …

Circumstances: Found whilst searching with a metal detector. Description: Medieval gold annular brooch. The frame is flat on the reverse and bevelled on the front. It exhibits a constriction for the pin and projecting from one side of the frame is a pair of clasped hands. The hands have been made separately and sit in a small notch on the outside of the frame. A small tab projects from the underside of the hands and has been soldered to the back of the frame. Each of the fingers has been defined by an engraved groove.
