Gold; finder’s analysis suggests 22 carat. Brooch. Frame of a brooch of oval or rhomboid form. A thin cast moulded front of curvilinear floral design inhalf relief is attached to a flat back-plate, so the body of the brooch is actually hollow. Front and back are crimped together to provide a setting for an oval stone (now lost). The field of the display face has a slightly rough or stippled surface, so as to emphasise the decorative detail which it surrounds. A long strand of gold wires was wound about the central setting, and at least seven wires each terminating in a small pelle…

Red-tinged Gold Finger Ring, with apparently hollow hoop of flattened oval section, mounting a rectangular cushion-shaped bezel for a stone (now lost). The upper sides of bezel are decorated with incised vertical billeting below a horizontal border; curvilinear decoration is also inscribed at the shoulders of the hoop. Ring is now slightly distorted. The thin hoop and rectangular bezel may suggest a 17th or 18th-century date (Oman 1930, plate XVI). The ring has been notified as potential Treasure (2010 T32). Thin and crumpled gold disc missing part of its rim and decorated by three irregular cells formed by gold strips soldered upright onto it. Two of the oblong cells still contain inlays. These are (now) dark and it is difficult to distinguish their material, but they seem to be glass. Further dark material is present on the outside of one of the cells. The disc originally seems to have had an upright rim, now squashed, and there is a tear in the front. The back is plain.
