A medieval gold annular (ring) brooch, circular in shape, terminating in two clasped hands. It has two inscribed facets punctuated by colons with a quatrefoil flower at the base and centre right. Reading clockwise from the pin, the letters (on the inner band) are V O : V O and (on the outer band) V O ? : V O L. The pin is plain with a beaded collar. The clasped hands may once have held a pearl or a gem, now lost. The reverse of the brooch is flat and plain. Comparable brooches are 2006 T119 and 2007 T389. Front cover: a band of gold sheet, rectangular in cross-section, soldered together at the top to create the basic oviform frame and eventual sides of the locket. An undiagnostic rod of twisted gold formed from at least two strands of uniform thickness, bent into an elliptical, penannular shape . Both terminals are spatulate, having been roughly flattened. The makers mark LJ Co is stamped on one terminal. Wear visible on upper face of outer surface. The object is probably a bracelet. XRF analysis of the surface indicates that it is gold alloy close to 9 carat gold. A complete, but bent gold posy finger ring of Late Post Medieval dating to the17th Century No trace of enamel is surviving on the exterior, which has been decorated on the exterior with double hearts flanked by love birds with foliage and flowers, including a pansy for 'thoughts'. The object would have been enamelled, tiny traces remain. A complete but misshapen gold finger ring, with domed oval red glass / paste inset intaglio. The intaglio was possibly engraved but due to damage caused by movement in the plough soil, any engraving is hard to determine. The finger ring has been decorated by a series of double circles, with annulets in the centre, joined together by a raised bar. Gold ornament, probably a bead. The thin sheet of gold had been rolled into a cylindrical shape but has now been unfortunately crushed. It is decorated with sixteen transverse embossed grooves. There is a brown substance, probably soil, inside the crushed ornament. The probable bead is very rare for Britain and Ireland though a necklace of similar beads from Ireland is in the British Museum (BM 1853,0926.2).
