An Iron Age gold quarter stater of the North Thames region / Catuvellauni, struck by Addedomaros, c.45-25 BC, Addedomaros Floral type. An incomplete Early-Modern sub-rectangular gold shoe or knee buckle frame dating from AD1700-1750. The buckle would have had a spindle and pronged chape which are now missing. One side of the buckle is split where the spindle would have been inserted, this damage, possible leading to the loss of the buckle. The buckle has a foliate or scroll design. There are no maker or hallmarks on the buckle possibly indicating that this buckle was made prior to May 1739. A Post Medieval gold posy finger ring dating 16th - 17th century. This finger ring is a plain, thin band with a D-shaped cross section. There is an inscription on the inner surface that reads BE x NOT x IDEIL, the I and the L are joined together by the upper and lower cross bars on the I, it is possible it is BE x NOT x IDELL. The inscription has been engraved in upper case suggesting a date of 16th - 17th century. Dimensions: width: 2.18mm; thickness: 0.77mm; diameter: 16.61mm; weight: 0.91g.
