A complete gold engraved posy finger ring of probable medieval date. The band if flat and the outside is engraved with intermittent floral sprigs and words. The engraved flowers have four or five petals and leaves are sub ovoid in shape. The inscription, written in English black letter, reads 'god* is* al* m*' which could be an abbreviation for 'god is almighty'. The ring is bent out of shape but is otherwise in good condition with little visible damage. There is no maker's mark. A gold penannular 'lock ring' of Bronze Age date (c. 1150 - 800 BC). The ring is triangular in section with flat terminals. The outer two faces of the object are decorated with a series of ribs (wire work?), whilst the internal face is undecorated. A gold annular brooch. The object is circular in shape, triangular in section and terminates in two clasped hands. There are two quatrefoils or flower motifs, cast in relief onto the outer surface which is formed of two facets from the triangular section of the object. One motif is opposite the clasped hands, whilst the other is opposite a constriction in the frame, onto which the pin is attached. Three further ring and dot motifs or annulets are at the upper edge of the coin. Either side of the trophy are rectangles with saltires within. A medieval gold crucifix pendant. The cross and figure are cast in one piece with an integral loop. The cross is cylindrical rather than square-shaped and the ends are finished diagonally rather than flush. A Post Medieval gold memento mori ring, dating to around the year AD1680. The object is D-shaped and inscribed on the internal surface with a skull engraved on the outer surface. The inscription reads: S : C : ob : 17 : March : 80 - [initials] died 17th March 1680. There is also a maker's stamp which appears to be a letter P. Judy Rudoe at the British Museum notes that when the first two numbers are omitted in the inscriptions on memento mori rings, the date is 17th century. Thus the coin was produced upon the death of an individual in AD1680.
