An incomplete strip of decorated gold ribbon, dating to the Bronze Age (2350 - 800 BC). The ribbon is rectangular in plan but has become bent in some areas probably due to post depositional damage. One edge of the ribbon has slightly rounded corners and does not appear to be broken unlike the opposite edge which appears to have been cut, resulting in one of the corners protruding jaggedly from the diagonal cut. A gold post medieval finger ring. The object appears to have been fashioned by attaching the bezel, shoulders and setting of an existing ring to a separate, probably, older posy ring with a kind of resin or adhesive which has hardened to a dark colour. The bezel is faceted and houses a pale-yellow gem or paste stone with a complex cut. There are traces of the dark material used to secure the hoop and bezel around the setting. A gold terminal from a bar torc of Middle Bronze Age date. c.1300-1150 BC The terminal is trumpet shaped with a flat end, 8.7 mm diameter. In section it is more or less octagonal, having eight irregular, undecorated facets. It narrows to 4.5 mm diameter and bends back on itself, forming a U-shape and terminating in a break. A complete gold, signet ring, with family coat of arms and motto, engraved on to a sem -precious stone set into a flower shaped bezel. The stone has been cut to represent a six petaled flower. An incomplete gold setting of modern date (post 1720), comprising a gold frame set with a dark red highly-domed cabochon-cut gem, probably a garnet. The frame has a sheet gold back plate and a piriform cell made from an upright rectangular collet of gold, housing the polished gem. The frame is surrounded by a collar of gold wire with a twisted or beaded effect, forming a triangular shield-shape with pointed angles around the cell. A gold posy ring of post medieval date (circa AD 1650 - 1780). The ring is a plain band, with a shallow D-shaped cross-section. The inscription on the inside of the band reads "A Vertuous wife preserueth life", apparently derived from Proverbs 31. The use of the long form S in 'preserueth' suggests a date prior to 1780 (acccording to Oxford Dictionaries online, that style fell out of use quite rapidly around that date).
